Dearest Judy,
Our deepest sympathies on the loss of Ed. I terribly regret that we never got over to pick you up and go up to the nursing home to see him together before his death. It was in our plans.
We were very fond of Ed.
My earliest memories of school are of Ed and his many nature programs. I am probably such an animal lover today because of those many trips to the all-purpose room in the elementary school to listen to him speak of beavers, white-tailed deer, otters and the like.
I was also privileged to know him in his later years when we pulled him out of retirement to play his saxophone for church there in Dundee a couple of times. We have a small band now at our church because he fanned the embers of both our instrumental pasts.
I hope you will take comfort in the lives he touched and in the memories we and you have of him.
Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers.
