Coach Tip was one of the best coaches I ever played for. My freshman year at Jefferson he took a bunch of St. Charles and Jefferson kids who didn't win in middle school and led us to an 8-1 record. He started my love for football in high school. Great coach and person. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

When I think of my first cousin Jeff I see his smile . No matter where he saw you he took the time to greet you with his infectious smile and always made one feel like a family favorite . He was a Coach and mentor to my young sons and helped coach my son Jeffreys team to a state championship .He introduced me to my new favorite Red wine Fortissimo at family gatherings . He was always there for us through difficult times making his famous Pasta . As a Child I spent a lot of time at the family home on Sunset Blvd . I remember well when Bev moved across the street and he would be out throwing footballs in the front yard as she jogged around her house with her little puppy across the street trying to get each other’s attention . A love that was meant to be and will last forever . ❤️

My deepest sympathies Jason and Eric, and to all of Tips family. He was truly a great guy, I have many memories of him starting way back in high school when he was “Coach Tipton” then into adult hood when he was our Miller Rep for the bar. He scored us NASCAR tickets more times then I can count and attended a few of the races with Randy and I. He would come into the bar for the orders and end up hanging out with us awhile almost each time. He was easy to make you laugh, and very easy to talk with, in my case Jeff knew me from when I was in high school, and would turn from the Miller Rep into “Coach” and had a few heart to heart talks when I was going through some hard times. He would come into the bar, and ask how I was doing. He knew i had just lost my Dad and was genuinely helping me get through the roughest time. When Randy I married he was of the first to send congratulations with a joke saying “about time”. He just truly cared about people. I’m sure he will be terribly missed by his family and friends, and my heart goes out to his sons and wife. Rest easy Jeff, I’m sure Jimmy P is up there waiting to share a Miller lite with you.

When I think about my upbringing through the Jefferson sports pipeline I can’t help to think of Coach Tip. Jeff was a coach, an individual you want to be around not only for a good time but he also made you want to be a better person. There are so many invaluable lessons I learned during years around Coach Tip that have helped shape who I am today. My heart and prayers go out to the Tipton family, may you rest in peace throughout all eternity Coach. - Dan Gendron

First, I just want to say thank you to Jeff. Coach Tip was my little league baseball coach. I can still remember him telling me NO.. lol, I would tell.. coach when I get to first base, I'm going to steal all the way to third. He would just laugh and say NO. Well after about 3 or 4 games of him telling me NO, Jeff would just say do what ever you want. I'm glad to say that Jeff help me be me. He never held anyone back from developing into the person they wanted to be. Coach Tip THANKS.. Thank you and you will definitely be missed by all of Bear Nation for you are definitely a great soul and father to more then 3 great young men. GOD BLESS you and your family!

Bev, Nancy, Barb, Tim, David, and the whole rest of your family, somehow, this one really stings. From the day I was born 1 week after my next door neighbor Jeff, I can truly say, outside of my family, Jeff was my very first best friend on planet earth. I have so many memories of those early, formative, innocent, neighborhood years. I will always treasure them. I am praying for all of you that God's peace, which is beyond our understanding, will rest and abide on each of you. God bless!

Jeffery, Jeff, Jeffers, dad, pop pop, Coach….you have had many names (some I shouldn’t repeat) through my life and all have made myself, jason, and Kyle who we are today. It has been tremendously hard going from talking to you at least once every day to haven’t talked with you since October 28th…
We worked together, golfed together, bowled together, coached together, drank together, built and repaired (sometime not the best repairs) stuff together….you were (as you would phrase it) my partner in crime! You would have been my first phone call to coach with me….now i will forever have an empty spot on my staff.
I love you, and miss you more everyday.
Tabitha had so many projects that she wanted us to do, trips to take, so many activities…
Max will miss the tractor and his pop pop.
But he will know the legend.
