Obituary of Judith Elaine Butler

Judith Elaine Butler was born on August 30, 1944, in Hayward, Wisconsin.   She was one of seven children born from the union of Frank Butler and Anna (McCloud) Butler.   After graduating high school, Judith, continued her education by enrolling in college courses focusing her efforts on business accounting.

Born a natural free spirit, Judith, made sure to always have a good time, no matter where life lead her.   As an extremely social person, Judith, while living in Minneapolis, Minnesota became quite well known everywhere she went, especially at the local stores, when traveling by Taxi, and even in the bars.   Judith enjoyed a good time, and she wasn’t afraid to be the center of attention or the “life” of the party.   Whenever, Judith, arrived those in attendance were sure to have a memorable experience.   Judith even carried the crown of “Miss Hayward” in her hometown of Hayward, Wisconsin for some time.   She never met a stranger, relishing conversation she was always willing to strike up a discussion.   Judith wasn’t one to judge others and in fact was sure to seek out the best in everyone.

Judith enjoyed preparing food for others.   One of her most sought-after dishes was that of fried bread.   This Indian comfort food and was always a staple in her kitchen.  Judith treasured playing cards with her family, from Rummy to Spades to other games, but her favorite game was that of Crazy 8’s.   This became her “go-to” game as she often conquered the competition.   

Judith Elaine Butler, age 76, of Monroe, passed away on Sunday; June 20, 2021. In addition to her passing, she is preceded by both her parents; and five siblings: Susan Fullington, Isabelle Butler, Gerald Butler, Harvey Butler, and Frank Butler.

To cherish her memory, she leaves her four children: Gerald Lizyness, Douglas (Charlene) Lizyness, Tracy Lizyness, Nicole Lizyness; one sister; thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

Private services have taken place and no public arrangements are planned.   Her care has been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162 (734) 384-5185.
