Obituary of Mitzi Jackson

Mitzi Marie Jackson was born in Monroe, Michigan on February 3, 1959. She was the daughter of the late James Carder and Sharon (Crissman) Rauch. Mitzi supported her family as a homemaker for years. Mitzi was known to be very loving and caring. She loved nothing more than to be surrounded by her family, particularly her grandchildren. Mitzi appreciated watching birds while outside, especially hummingbirds. She was quite crafty, and was her own handy woman; often she fixed items and then would break them later. Mitzi enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers play ball, going out gambling at Hollywood Casino, and boat rides on the lake. Mitzi was very independent and a handy woman around the house. She battled Multiple Sclerosis and was a member of MS Society for fifteen years but was very strong willed and determined. Mitzi Marie Jackson, age 54 passed away peacefully in her home, in Monroe on Saturday, August 03, 2013. She was preceded by her father who passed away on May 3, 1977. To cherish her memory, she leaves behind three daughters: Amy (David) White, Tiffany (Kyle) Hall, and Sharon Jackson; two sisters: April (Ed) Killian of LaSalle and Julia (Lawrence "Dale") Wyatt) of Missouri; three brothers: Kevin Carder, Christopher (Trina) Carder of Deerfield, and Gregory Carder; and three grandchildren: Hayden White, Owen White, and Michael Borrmann Jr. Friends may gather from 4:00pm until 7:00pm on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of Her Life will follow at 7:00pm also at Merkle's. Pastor Kenneth Spain, associate pastor of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church will officiate. Cremation will follow through Southern Michigan Services in Livonia, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
