Obituary of Ruby F. Traugh

Ruby F. Traugh, 91, of Petersburg, Michigan, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, March 3, 2016. She was surrounded by her family under the care of hospice at her own home. She was born in Kanawha County, West Virginia on October 17, 1924 the daughter of Hubert and Mamie (Smarr) Isles. She married Robert M. Traugh on May 15, 1946 in Sherman , West Virginia. They celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1996. Sadly he preceded her in death on May 12, 2002. They had moved to Michigan in 1955 farming together and raising pigs. She also worked in a defense plant during World War II making bombs. She is a member of Union Street Missionary Baptist Church. Her survivors include a step- son Roger Traugh of Symrna, Georgia; daughters Brenda Killion of Petersburg and Tera Rock of Manitou Beach, Michigan; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son Robert Traugh, granddaughter Vaugn Bomia, and 2 son in laws Tom Bomia and Fred Sizemore. Her passions were her loved for dogs and animals. She njoyed going to movies and working in her rose garden. She was also an avid reader. In accordance with her wishes no services will be held. Her wish was to have her body donated to medical science at the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor. Arrangements were handled by the Cover Funeral Home , 297 Tecumseh Street in Dundee. Memorials may be made to God Works Soup Kitchen in Monroe.
