Obituary of Gordon Raymond

Gordon Lee Raymond was born On October 3, 1963 in Wayne, Michigan. He was one of three boys born from the union of the late Wilbur Augustus Raymond and the late Alice May (Stanley) Raymond. As a young man, Gordon was extremely close to his brother Wilbur. Together they enjoyed riding bikes and hanging out before Wilbur moved to Texas. Gordon enjoyed the outdoors and for many years he worked in maintenance at a local golf course. He also cherished his ten acres in Northern Michigan near Gaylord. He and his mother were extremely close and they would share countless hours of camping, hunting, and fishing at their retreat. Gordon loved music and going to concerts. He was an avid fan of Bob Seger. Gordon especially loved his niece and nephews. Gordon Lee Raymond age 49 of Newport passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at his home. To cherish his memory he leaves a brother: Wilbur Michael Raymond of Arlington, Texas; three nieces and nephews: Katrina Raymond and Justen Raymond both of Michigan, and David Raymond of Arlington Texas. Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 8:00pm, Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at Merkle Funeral Service, South Monroe; 14567 South Dixie Highway, Monroe Michigan (734) 241-7070. A Celebration of Her Life will take place at 11:00am on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 also at Merkle's. The Reverend Kenneth Spain, Associate Pastor of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church will officiate. Procession will follow to Michigan Memorial Park in Huron Township for burial. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
