Obituary of Mildred Parker

Mildred P. Parker, age 98, of Manitou Beach, Michigan and formerly of Milan died Sunday, September 1, 2013 at her home under the care of her family and hospice. Born July 22, 1915 in Belmore, Ohio she was the daughter of Joe and Othelia Myers. She married Merle Parker who preceded her in death in 1985. Mildred retired from the Milan Public Schools as a cook and a dietician. She had worked at the Platt Road Greenhouse and had been going to the Ann Arbor Farmers Marker for 65 years. She is a long standing and active member of the London United Methodist Church. Growing up, she moved from Ohio to the Milan area. Her father then took work in Dearborn. She later moved back to Milan. She was very spry and active for her age and even went to the farmers market just last month. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 6, 2013 from 12 noon until memorial services at 2 P.M. at the Cover Funeral Home, 297 Tecumseh Street in Dundee (734-529-3156). Officiating will be Rev. Dr. Michael Clemmer, pastor of the Deerfield United Methodist Church. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has been held. She is survived by her son Marvin Parker of Addison and her daughter Ilene McCrea of Dundee; grandchildren Joel McCrea, Heather McCrea-Andrews and Larry (Chad) McCrea; great-grandchildren Ian McCrea, Sandra McCrea, Riley McCrea, Chloe and Liley Andrews, Ramzey Eltaher, Parker and Owen McCrea. She was preceded in death by her husband and sister Irene Myers. Memorials may be made to the London United Methodist Church, 11318 Plank Road, Milan, MI 48160 or to the family.
