Obituary of Lois Jean Wiech

Lois Jean Wiech, age 59, a lifelong resident Dundee, Michigan, and a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church, passed away Thursday morning, February 7, 2013 at her home. She was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, October 8, 1953, the daughter of Thurman E. and Carol A. (Robinson) Wiech. She graduated from Dundee High School in 1972. Lois had an immense love of children. She started caring for them as a teenager and continued until the day she entered the hospital. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Dundee. Her church involvement included teaching Sunday School for 30 years; was Sunday School superintendent for 2 years; taught Bible School; made cancer pads; tying of quilts; chairing and working for rummage and craft sales and was presently the chairwoman of the Prayer Shawlers. Lois is survived by her mother Carol of Dundee; brother Dale Wiech of Dundee; and extended family John, Val, Brian, Kristin, Aubrey, Jaysen, Brett, Nora, Brett Jr., Clohe Juckette; Larry, Daphne, Tyler, Kaylee Schwisow, and all the little ones she cared for. Friends may call on Sunday from 2 – 8 P.M. at the Cover Funeral Home, 297 Tecumseh Street in Dundee (734-529-3156) She will lie in state from 10 A.M. until services at 11 A.M., Monday, February 11, 2013 at St. John Lutheran Church, 460 Riley Street in Dundee. Officiating will be Pastor Tom Tarpley of the First United Methodist Church of Fowlerville. Interment will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery in Dundee. She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents. Memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church or to any charity of the donor’s choice.
