Obituary of Jeffery Johnson

Jeffery Rex Johnson was born in Trenton, Michigan, on July 4, 1953. He was one of five children born from the union of the late Delbert Johnson and Ora (Stults) Johnson. He was raised in a Baptist home and was a firm believer in Christ. Jeffrey was employed by several employer over the years including working as an assembler at the Mazda assembly plant in Flat Rock. Jeffery's true passion, however, was spending time with others. He loved to socialize with others and hang out with friends. One of his favorite pastimes was going to Barbeques. Jeffery Re Johnson, age 60 of Monroe passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2013. In addition to his father, his passing was preceded by his maternal and paternal grandparents. To cherish his memory he leaves his mother: Ora Johnson of Newport; three sisters: Sheila (Edward) Bell of Newport, Melanie (Dennis) Allen of Mesick, Michigan, and Donna Bercheni of Newport; one brother: Roger (Shelly) Johnson of Munith, Michigan; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may gather from 1:00pm until 3:00pm on Monday, July 15, 2013 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of His Life will follow at 3:00pm also at Merkle's. Procession will follow to Michigan Memorial Park for burial. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
