Obituary of Lucille J. Freeman

Lucille J. Freeman, age 85 of Jackson, formerly of Milan, passed away Friday, December 9, 2011 at Allegiance Hospital in Jackson. She was born October 2,, 1926 in Cone, Michigan the daughter of Mervin and Pearl (Auten) Wilsey. She was married to Howard Freeman. Sadly he passed away in August 1983. Lucille had worked various jobs over the years but longest she worked at Great Scott’s Grocery Store and also as a taxi cab driver. She had attended and graduated from Milan Public Schools. Her survivors include her sons Gale (Mary) Smith of Milan, George Smith of Alabama, Howard Jr. (Butch)(Pepper) Freeman of Jackson, daughters Vivian (Ron) Koczman of Milan, Cheryl Smith of Utah and Christine Bailey of Jackson; seventeen grand-children and many great-grandchildren; also a brother Russell Wilsey of Cone survives. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard, her father in 1960 and mother in 1997, two sons Leroy Leon Smith and Paul Franklin Smith, brother Myrl Wilsey and sister Mary Frances Bame. Friends may call on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 from 11:00 A.M. until a funeral service at 1:00 P.M. at the Cover Funeral Home, 297 Tecumseh Street in Dundee (734-529-3156) .Officiating will be the Rev. Douglas Olsen, pastor of the Dundee United Methodist Church. Interment will be with her husband and parents in the Rice Cemetery on Dennison Road in Milan Township.
