Obituary of Jane Demski

Please share a memory of Jane to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jane M. Demski was born in Toledo on January 14, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Josephine Piorkowski. Jane was a graduate of Woodward High School in Toledo. Jane had studied as a nurse but decided her real love was for family. On June 9, 1956 at St. Adalbert's in Toledo she married her true love, Lawrence A. Demski, Sr. She cherished their time together raising her family until Larry's death on February 7, 2011; she has missed him ever since. Jane worked part-time in medical records for Toledo Hospital, but most importantly was her love of caring for her family and home. She had lost her mother at a young age which left her to raise her brother demonstrating the importance of love and family. She was always involved with her children as she could be including: school events, the PTA, bake sales and even hand sewing every Halloween costume. Jane was never afraid of work, hosting large family holidays and maintaining her immaculately clean house, which is the way she enjoyed it. Her other joys in life included: making intricate and fabulous decorated cakes, dinner and shopping trips with her "girls", her Webkin "pets" and games, but most of all was attending her grandchildren's activities. Jane received her greatest happiness in life through the happiness of others. In 1978 the family moved to Erie Michigan, purchasing a small orchard on Erie Road. Jane and Larry enjoyed making many friends with and enjoyed their orchard market and garage sales. Jane age 77 of Erie passed away on Monday, July 1, 2013 after many years of health struggles. In addition to her mother her passing was preceded by her beloved husband Larry. To cherish her memory she leaves children: Larry (Lisa "CC") Demski Jr. of Toledo, Michael Demski of Erie, Lynn (Del) Clayton of Toledo, Jennifer Allen of Toledo; grandchildren: Kristin of Toledo, Courtney of Ypsilanti and Lindsay Demski of Mt. Pleasant, Casey, Cody, and Allie Clayton of Toledo, and Hannah Demski of Erie. Friends may gather from 1:00-8:00pm, Monday, July 8, 2013 at Merkle Funeral Service, 9156 Summit (734) 848-5185. She will lie in state from 10:00am until the Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00am, Tuesday, July 9 at St. Joseph Church, 2214 Manhattan. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Make-A-Wish. Online words of inspiration and comfort at www.merklefuneralservice.com; Life Stories page.
