Grace Alice (Snell) Burns October 16, 1932- January 2, 2011 Grace A. Burns, age 78 of Maybee, MI suddenly passed away on January 2, 2011 at Mercy Memorial Hospital in Monroe, MI. Born in London Twp., MI on October 16, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Jay and Lavella (Miller) Snell. She married Charles Nathan Burns on October 18, 1952 at the London United Methodist church. Sadly, he preceded her in death on May 25, 1992. Grace was employed as a telephone operator prior to marriage and doing what she loved most, being a full time homemaker and Mother (and later becoming the best Grandma and Great-Grandma any kid could have). She was a multi- talented lady who loved to work outdoors in her flower and vegetable gardens. She will be fondly remembered by each of her nieces for the beautiful wedding cakes she decorated for them. Other hobbies she enjoyed included bingo, knitting, crochet, and being a die-hard, devoted Detroit Lions fan. She is survived by her daughters: Linda (Timothy) Vaughan, Monroe; and Mary (George) Fox of Maybee. Siblings: Walter (Barbara) Snell of Dundee; Carol (Andrew) Pentercs of Dundee; Mary (Delbert) Wayne of Ida. Two grandchildren: Charles N. Cleer of Westland; and Leah Cleer of Milan; one great-grandson Thomas; plus another great-grandson due in February 2011, Kaleb Charles (for whom she had diligently knitted a baby blanket for right up until two days prior to her passing); and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, brothers William and Carl Snell, and sister Joyce Snell. Friends may call Wednesday from 4 – 9 P.M. at the Cover Funeral Home In Dundee (734-529-3156) Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 A.M. , Thursday, January 6, 2011 with Rev.
