Obituary of Lewis H. Stone

Lewis Howard Stone, age 58, of Dundee, Michigan, passed away suddenly of a massive heart attack in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Thursday,December 20, 2012. Formerly of the Erie, Pennsylvania area and many other towns where he was a music pastor and was principal of a Christian school. He was a member of Summerfield Baptist Chapel; loved his family, friends and his church; loved hunting and fishing too. He married the former Lydia Marie Gleason on November 6, 1982 at Jackson, Michigan. Survivors include his wife Lydia, his children Philip of Dundee, Daniel of Ypsilanti, Robert of Dundee , Benjamin of Ypsilanti and Valerie of Toledo; grand-daughter Olivia Allen, his mother Elma Stone of Waterford, Pennsylvania; sisters Ruth (Martin) Boor of Springfield, OH, Susan (John) Miller of Waterford, Carol (Thomas) Bostoch of Maryland and Janet (David) Shields of Waterford. He was a graduate of Cedarville Christian University in Cedarville, Ohio and had earned a Masters Degree in Religious Education. He was currently a driver for Holland Special Delivery of Holland, Michigan. Friends may call on Wednesday 1-3 and 5-8 PM at Cover Funeral Home at 297 Tecumseh Street in Dundee (734-529-3156). He will lie in state on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012 , from 10 AM until services at 11 AM at Summerfield Baptist Chapel at Summerfield and Railroad Streets. Officiating will be Pastor Jim McCourt. Interment will take place in Oak Grove Cemetery in Dundee. He was preceded in death by his father Howard E. stone. Memorial donations in Lew’s memory may be made to any charity of the donor’s choice.
