LuAnn M. Schultz, age 79,of Dundee, passed away Saturday, February 12, 2011, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI. She was born July 25, 1931, in St. Mary’s, OH, to the late William and Alma (Homan) Post. She graduated from nursing school in Ft. Wayne, Indiana and had worked as an RN at the Veterans Administration Hospitals in Battle Creek and Ann arbor and also at Mercywood Hospital in Ann Arbor. She helped her late husband, Dr. Ivan Vere Schultz establish his dental practice in Dundee and was his helpmate while also raising their three children. She married Dr. Schultz November 28, 1957 in Coldwater, Michigan. He passed away February 5, 2009. Mrs. Schultz was also a longtime member of St. Michael The Archangel Catholic Church in Monroe. She is survived by her children: son Steven (Heather) Schultz of Orange Park, FL, daughters Susan (Ray) Colonius of Clinton Township and Nancy Schultz of Milan; grand-children Laura and Anne Colonius, and Madeline, Olivia, Jack and Emma Schultz; siblings Mello (Josephine) Post of Coldwater, MI, Zeno (Patricia) Post of Coldwater, MI, James (Annette) Post of Carmel, Indiana, Virgil (Judy) Post of Lexington, Kentucky, Robert (Wanda) Post of Ludington, MI, Daniel (Charlene) Post of Goshen, Indiana, Drita Gilmore of Irving, Texas, her twin JoAnn (John) Bateson of Asheville, NC and Lucy (Robert) Sowers of Florida; also sisters-in-law Evelyn Tam and Betty Schultz both of Dundee. Friends may call on Monday from 3 – 8 PM at the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Road in Monroe (734-241-4600) She will lie in state Tuesday, February 15, 2011 from 9:00 AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Michael Catholic Church, 502 W. Front Street in Monroe. Officiating will be the Rev. Steven Vileo, pastor of the church. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Dundee. A Scripture prayer service will be held Monday at 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
