Pauline Gibson

Pauline Cretoria Gibson was born in Gilboa, Ohio on July 31, 1914. She was one of five children from the union of the late Adam Wolf and the late Goldie (Larcom) Wolf.
Pauline raised her children in Erie and moved to Luna Pier in 1985. She received her spiritual nourishment from Luna Pier Baptist Church. Pauline was active in her community as a member of the Erie VFW Auxillary in Erie, where she avidly played Bingo. She also served at the Lotus Manor, Luna Pier Sr. Center and the Watertower Sr. Center. In the 1960's she was voted VJ Day queen by the Erie community.
Pauline was a very loving and caring person who loved spending time with her family. In her younger years, she appreciated the outdoors gardening and canning. She enjoyed traveling to Florida to visit friends and in her quiet time, she liked to watch the Lawrence Welk Show.
Pauline Cretoria Gibson age 98, of Erie, passed away at 9:58am, Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Point Place Rehab and Nursing Center. She was under the care of Odyssey Hospice. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by three husbands: Ralph Tucker, Glenn Fry and Harvey Gibson; two brothers: Arthur Wolf and George (Lillian) Wolf; two sisters Velma (Frank) Fry and Mary (Loral) Heckerman; and a grandson: Ronald Keopke.
To cherish her memory, she leaves her daughter: Susan (John) Koepke of Erie; a son: William (Donna) Tucker of Ashville, North Carolina; three grandchildren: David Koepke, Liz (Mike) Stasiak and Charles Tucker; three great-grandchildren: Nick (Jamie) Koepke, Craig Koepke and Matthew Stasiak; and a great-great- grandson: Trevor.
Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 8:00pm on Monday June 3, 2013 at Merkle Funeral Service, 9156 Summit Street, Erie (734)848-5185, where the Erie VFW Post 3925 Ladies Auxillary will perform services at 7pm. A Celebration of Her life will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 also at Merkle's. Pastor Ken Steffas of Luna Pier Baptist Church will officiate. Procession will follow to Restlawn Memorial Park in Perrysburg, Ohio for burial.
