Obituary of John R. Barbosa

John R. Barbosa, age 90, Nov. 18, 2012 formerly of Lincoln Park and Riverview died at Fountainview in Monroe. He was born in General Cepeda, Coahuila, Mexico May 28, 1922 the son of Manuel and Martina (Ramirez) Barbosa. He retired from Great Lakes Steel and also barbered. He served in the US military during World War II , stationed in Europe. He married Helen Campbell July 26, 1945 in Glasgow, Scotland. She died December 26, 2008. Friends may call from 10 AM until 11 AM services Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at the Lincoln Park Presbyterian Church, 1709 Emmons Blvd. Full military honors will be conducted at the church by the Wyandotte Honor Guard. Survived by his son Manuel (Nancy) Barbosa and daughter Helen (Robert) Rose both of Dundee; 6 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister Antonia Aleman of Texas. Memorials may be made to the church, Alzeheimer’s Association or to Heartland Hospice.
