Frank was born in Tazewell, Tennessee on May 7, 1927. He was the son of the late Dillard and Hassie (Seals) Buell. As a teenager, Frank moved to Monroe. On January 27, 1947 he married the love of his life Lois Haley. Frank worked for River Raisin Paper Company folding cartons. He retired from Consumers Energy after twenty-seven years of performing mechanical and maintenance work. Frank attended vocational school and earned his diploma from Monroe Adult Education. Frank was ordained as a Deacon at Frenchtown Missionary Baptist Church in 1959, also teaching Sunday School and Bible study. He then continued to serve as a Deacon and teacher at Monroe Missionary Baptist Church and was honored to become a Deacon Emeritus. Frank was generous to a fault. He was a family man of integrity and great character; especially loving his grandchildren. He had a love for life and for serving others. His hobbies included vegetable and fruit gardening. Frank enjoyed hunting but most was an avid fisher, in his own words; "everyday it was a fit day" to fish. He owned several boats throughout the years. Frank age 86 of Monroe passed away at the Lutheran Home on Thursday, May 23, 2013. In addition to his parents his passing was preceded by brothers: Donald, Bill, Jack, Randall, Ed Buell; and sisters: Jewel Grahm and Trula Byrd. To cherish his memory he leaves a loving wife: Lois of Monroe; son: Timothy F. "Tim" (Cindy) Buell of LaSalle; daughter: Sheila Buell of Gulfport, Florida; four grandchildren: Tracie Calfee of Gulfport, Leslie (Jeremy) Zenz of Toledo, Brandon Harris of Ann Arbor, and Kaleb T. Buell of LaSalle; two great grandchildren: Madison Jones and Peyton Zenz; three brothers: Steve (Darlene) of Bean Station, Tennessee, Buster (Betty), and Larry both of Morristown, Tennessee; and two sisters: Martha (Glen) Southern and Bonnie (John) Tomassonia both of Morristown. Friends may gather from 3:00-8:00pm, Friday, May 24 at Merkle Funeral Service, South Monroe, 14567 South Dixie (734) 241-7070 (formerly Bennett Funeral Services).
