Obituary of John William Bucher

John William Bucher was born on March 16, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan. He was born from the union of his parents: the late Lewis Edward Bucher and the late Olgie Pauline (Richter) Bucher. He received his education by attending Roosevelt High School in Wyandotte and graduated with the Class of 1968. He enlisted in the United States Army to serve his country honorably until he was discharged.

John worked for 34 years as a truck driver to support his growing family driving a semi. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed time spent outdoors fishing, hunting and camping. He enjoyed riding his motorcycles, listening to his favorite country and rock and roll tunes, drinking his coffee from sun up to sun down and eating his favorite candies.

Above anything, John was a family man and always made sure to be present in his children’s lives never missing an opportunity to cheer them on at sporting events. He cherished time spent with his grandchildren and loved making them laugh by playing silly games with them.

John William Bucher “Old Fart”, age 68 of Monroe, passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Promedica Monroe Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family. His passing is preceded by his brother: Daryl Bucher and his parents.

To cherish his memory, he leaves his beloved companion of 14 years: Naomi Coon; his children: Gary Bucher, John Paul “JP” “middle aged fart” Bucher and Tiffany Bucher; his sister: Janine; his grandchildren: Kayden, John “JD” “Little Fart” and Jamison “Teeny fart” and many extended family members and friends.

Family and friends may gather on Friday, February 22, 2019 from 2:00pm – 8:00pm at Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe 2442 North Monroe (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of His Life will take place on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 11:00am also at Merkle’s with Reverend Jeffrey Heimsoth from Trinity Lutheran Church in Monroe officiating. Procession will take place to Huron Valley Cemetery where burial will take place.
