Obituary of Elizabeth "Beth" Virginia Norman

Elizabeth Norman, age 96, of Dundee, passed away on Monday, February 18th, 2019 at Medilodge of Monroe.   She was born in Whiteford Township, Michigan on May 17, 1922 one of seven children from the union of the late Frank J. and Clara (Trut) Labun.  

Beth married L.C. Norman on August 25, 1962. Together they owned and operated the Dundee Bar Lounge.   Beth was well known throughout the area for her delicious soups and lunch specials.   She was involved in dance, and danced with the Aristocrats for several years. She also enjoyed golf, bowling, and was a devout member of St. Irene Catholic Church.

To cherish her memory she leaves a daughter-in-law:  Laureen Norman; stepdaughter:  Kristie Koontz and spouse Jerry Koontz; three grandchildren: Joshua Norman, Jacob Norman, and Grant Koontz; and a sister:  Jeanette Valentine.   In addition to her parents, her passing was preceded by her husband: L.C. Norman; a son:  Lee Norman; a grandson:  Trent Koontz; and five brothers and sisters.

Friends may gather from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Friday, February 22, 2019 at Merkle Funeral Service, Dundee (formerly Cover Funeral Home); 297 Tecumseh Street (734) 529-3156.  A Rosary service will take place at 7:00pm led by Deacon Mike Hammond.   Beth will lie in state from 10:00am until 11:00am on Saturday, February 23, 2018 at St. Irene Church of St. Gabriel Parish; 576 East Main Street in Dundee.   Mass will take place at 11:00am.   Procession will follow to Maple Grove Cemetery for burial.
