Vaughn Keith Snavely was born in Monroe, Michigan on November 6, 1947. He was the son of the late Reid Snavely and the late Roberta (Hall) Snavely. Vaughn served his country honorably in the United States Army. Vaughn married the love of his life, the former Teresa Merritt on May 10, 1967 in Monroe. From this union came the birth of four children. Vaughn supported his family working in maintenance for the "Big Three". For several years after his discharge from the Army, Vaughn was a member of the VFW Post 3943 in Newport. Before his illness, he liked to go hunting and fishing and he enjoyed playing his guitar. Above all, Vaughn was a family man. He relished family gatherings, cookouts, and any time he could spend with his loved ones. He also loved to wear his Corona straw hat. Vaughn was known to be quite the joker. He had the ability to always make people laugh. Vaughn Keith Snavely, age 65 of Monroe, passed away Monday, May 6, 2013 at the VA Hospital in Ann Arbor. He had been battling illness for several years. In addition to his parents, his passing was preceded by two brothers, James and Mike Snavely.
