Obituary of Therese Kiker

Therese Jayne Kiker was born in Mobile, Alabama on January 13, 1963. She was the daughter of Brenda (Vaughn) Maxwell and John Bullock. Therese worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Oakwood Hospital for fifteen years. Therese had a caring heart and a love for helping people. She was known as the neighborhood "mom" and valued her time with her grandchildren. Therese was loved by many people and enjoyed being around family and cooking for them. She loved to travel and appreciated the outdoors by taking the family camping and riding her motorcycle. Therese Jayne Kiker, age 50 of Monroe, passed away on April 17, 2013 at the comfort of her home. She was preceded by her first husband: Tommy Kiker. To cherish her memory she leaves behind her loving fiancé and significant other for eighteen years: Leroy Cuykendall III; her parents: Thomas and Brenda Maxwell; two daughters: Lindsey Dusseau, Leann (Chris) Krimm of Pennsylvania; four sons: Tommy Kiker Jr., Bernie Kiker, Leroy (April) Cuykendall IV of LaSalle, and Lucas Cuykendall; two sisters: Laura (Tom) Willey of Kentucky and Katherine "Kim" Mitchem; two brothers: Matthew (Sheila) Bullock of Tennessee and Boone (Shirley) Maxwell of Florida; eight grandchildren: Blade Kiker, Dominick "Jacob" Kiker, Brooklyn Kiker, Lillian Cuykendall, Leroy Cuykendall V, Nathen Krimm, Andrew Krimm, and Joshua Krimm; and two nieces Courtney Ann and Abbie. Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 7:00pm on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of Her Life will follow at 7:00pm also at Merkle's with Pastor Jerry Stewart of Victory Christian Fellowship Church officiating. Cremation rites will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
