Robert Henry Nolff was born in Carleton, Michigan on December 28, 1938. He was one of six children born from the union of the late Orville Albert Nolff and the late Florence Irene. Robert attended the one-room schoolhouse at the corner of Newport and Grafton Roads through Airport Community Schools. He married Mathilda Kamin and later married Barbara Ann Hensley. For more than thirty years, Robert worked in the Asphalt paving business as an equipment operator and laborer. He worked for several different employers including American and Zan-Top Paving. When Robert wasn't working, he loved working on and painting cars. Robert also enjoyed listening to country music and drinking a cold beer. Robert Henry Nolff, age 74 of Monroe passed away at 1:45am on Friday, April 12, 2013 at Fountainview of Monroe. In addition to his parents, his passing was preceded by his second wife: Barbara Ann Nolff; two brothers: Donald Nolff and Edward Nolff; and two sisters: Diana Bower and Rose Taylor. To cherish his memory, he leaves two daughters: Diana (Marc) Jiminez of Joppa, Maryland and Jodi Nolff of Romulus; three sons: Bruce Wickings of Pennsylvania, Robert (Emma) Nolff of Frenchtown, and Jesse Nolff of North Carolina; a step-son whom he raised as his own: Jeff (Debra) Kamin of Gibraltar, Michigan; a sister: Patricia (Jim) Kenny of Holt, Michigan; nineteen grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place through Southern Michigan Services in Livonia, Michigan. Private family services will be held at a later date. Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185 was entrusted with his arrangements. Memorial donations are suggested to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
