Obituary of Irmgard Morin

Please share a memory of Irmgard to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Irmgard Konrad was born in Czechoslovakia on July 26, 1940. She was the daughter of the late Franz Konrad and Ann-Marie (Rifer) Konrad. Irmgard married Leslie Morin Jr. on December 30, 1960 in Stuttgart, Germany. The couple moved to the United States from Czechoslovakia in 1962, settling in Erie. For many years, Irmgard was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse for Mercy Hospital in Toledo. The Morin family were parishioners of St. Joseph Church in Erie. Irmgard was very kind and giving but she could also be stubborn. She was a hard worker and a great cook. Irmgard loved to entertain her family. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, and fishing, as well as, playing bingo and going to the casino. She had a special place in her heart for her four cats. Irmgard had the distinction of having an article written about her in the Monroe Evening News. It touched on her struggles to bring her brother and sister to the United States from Germany to visit, a task she was able to accomplish. Irmgard Morin, age 72 of Erie, passed away peacefully at home after a 1 ½ year struggle with dialysis. In addition to her parents her passing was preceded by her husband, Leslie; a daughter, Carol Majewski; father and mother-in-law: Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Morin Sr.; and nephew, Jeffery Morin. To cherish her memory she leaves a son: David (Tara) Morin of Erie; a daughter; Susan Naugle of Toledo; a son-in-law: Alan Naugle of Toledo; a brother: Oskar (Rebecca) Konrad of Germany; a sister: Anne-Marie (Peter) Weissenbach of Germany; seven grandchildren: Madisyn Morin, Scott Naugle, Jessica Majewski , Stephanie (Jesse) Garcia, Jacklynn Majewski, Nicole (Joshua) Schonter, and Leslie Majewski all of Toledo; and five great-grandchildren. The family wishes to express a special thank you to Vic and Shi for the care they gave to Irmgard, as well as to the staff of Davita Dialysis Center.
