Ersula "Sue" Bly Pate July 28, 1942 - March 29, 2013 Ersula "Sue" Bly Pate was born in Middlesboro, Kentucky on July 28, 1942. She was one of four siblings born from the union of the late Reverend Edgar Pate and the late Myrtle (Sharp) Pate. Sue was such a kind, tender hearted person that everyone who met her was drawn to her. She was known to be the life of the party with the ability to fill the room with smiles. Sue was a simple person who never spoke ill of anyone. She dedicated herself to her entire family, especially her nieces and nephews. Sue was a hard worker, only taking three days off her entire career. She worked in many different fields such as making donuts at a donut shop, a cook at restaurants, and a clerk in a pet store. When Sue wasn't spending time with her family, she enjoyed doing word searches, crocheting, and planting flowers outdoors. Ersula "Sue" Bly Pate, age 70 of Monroe passed away on Friday, March 29, 2013 at Mercy Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family. In addition to her parents, her passing was preceded by two brothers-in-law: Warren Patterson and Bill Croley. To cherish her memory she leaves behind two sisters: JoAnn Patterson and Shelcie Croley; one brother: William Pate; two nieces: Carol ( George) Kazimer and Robin (Sean) Schmidt; three nephews: Richard (Theresa) Turner, William (Jenny) Patterson and Robert (Michelle) Farris; nine great nieces: Regan Pfeiffer, Makayden Patterson, Teffanie (Ray) Kazimer, Samantha (Ricky) Kazimer, Tanayea (Josh) Jones, Melissa Ross, Megan Farris, Stephanie Turner and Melanie (Mike) Menard; four great nephews: William Patterson, Ryan (Jessica) Kazimer, Justin Turner and Connor Schmidt; eight great-great nieces: Addison Kazimer, Rylee Kazimer, Kaylee Kazimer, Autumn Deitz, Ally Deitz, Jasmine Kitt, Sawyer Jones, and Miranda Menard; and seven great-great nephews: Darian Kazimer, Nathan Kazimer, Rayvian Deitz, Noah Wilson, Ashton Deitz, Austin Deitz and Schuylar Johnson. Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 7:00pm on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of Her Life will follow at 7:00pm also at Merkle's. Pastor Delmar Moore of Grace Missionary Baptist will officiate. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to American Heart Association.
