Obituary of Jeffrey Wilkinson

Jeffrey "Jeff" David Wilkinson was born in Wyandotte, Michigan on August 27, 1964. He was the son of the late William Wilkinson and the late Betty (Logan) Wilkinson. Jeff grew up attending Wyandotte Schools and later earned his GED. He served briefly in the United States Navy. Jeffrey was an extremely hard worker. He didn't like to sit still and always found a way to keep himself busy. Jeff worked as an industrial painter for more than twenty years. He was a member of the Local 456 out of Nashville, recently working for Eugenio Painting. Jeffrey was the type of individual that always put others first. He was warm and caring, enjoyed helping others and was willing to give the shirt off his back. Jeffrey was optimistic and never judgmental. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. Jeff loved music and liked to sing along. His listening interests varied drastically and his concert hall was usually the car. His favorite hangout was "The Shop", a close friend's garage. A great deal of time was spent fixing and working on cars and just hanging out. Jeffrey "Jeff" David Wilkinson, age 48 of Monroe passed away in Southgate, Michigan on Saturday, March 23, 2013. In addition to his parents, his passing was preceded by three sisters: Judith Wilkinson, Shirley Wilkinson, and Joyce Caylor; and one brother: Dale Wilkinson. To cherish his memory he leaves behind two daughters: Amanda Wilkinson (Fred Wickenheiser) of Monroe and Rheanna Lundberg of Brooklyn, Michigan; two sisters: Josephine Pierce of Glendale, AZ and Sandra Oliver of Rockwood; nine nieces and nephews: Kim and Michelle, Jason, Matthew and Vikki, Patricia and Sheila, and Angela and Nicholas; numerous great nieces and nephews; and two very special grandpuppies: Baby and Bo. Cremation has taken place. Friends may gather from 6:00pm until 8:00pm, Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of His Life will follow at 8:00pm with Reverend Roy Southerland pastor of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church officiating.
