Obituary of Patricia Lucille McBride

Patricia Lucille Gibbons was born on January 22, 1949 in Monroe Michigan. She was one of five children born from the union of her parents the late Charles Willis Gibbons and the late Mabel June (Cornelius) Gibbons. She received her education at Monroe High School and graduated with the class of 1967.

Patricia married the love of her life, Gary McBride on June 3, 1971 at Monroe Missionary Baptist Church. From this union came the birth of their two sons. To support her family, she worked for many years in the health care industry as a nurse’s aide working at IHM and the Lutheran Home in Monroe. She was a woman of faith and attended church to receive her spiritual nourishment.

Family was most important to her and she was very close with her sisters. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing BINGO, listening to country music and visiting with her granddaughter.

Patricia Lucille McBride, age 68, of Monroe, Michigan passed away Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 5:11am at Promedica Monroe Skilled Nursing and Rehab. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Donna Nisley

To cherish her memory, she leaves behind her husband, Gary McBride of 46 years; her son Chris Lee (Audra) McBride of Monroe, Michigan and Adam Patrick McBride, her sisters: Bonnie (the late Dennis) Smock of Monroe, Betty (Ronnie Sr.) Gibson of Monroe and Debbie (Mike) Fix of Newport her granddaughter Madeline McBride and many extended family members and friends.

Friends may gather from 10:00am until 12:00pm on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of Her Life will follow at 12:00pm also at Merkle’s with Chaplain William Fink of ProMedica Hospice to officiate.
