He adored his nieces and nephews, and referred to them as the joy of his life. Davey valued spending time with his family. He enjoyed the outdoors. Hunting small game and fishing were favorite pastimes, and he even enjoyed cleaning the fish that everyone else caught. He had a love for the Lord and worshipped at Kentucky Park Missionary Baptist Church. Davey had been a member of Union Street Missionary Baptist. As a young man he was a Demolay.
