Obituary of Linda Manor

Please share a memory of Linda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Linda Sue Valerio was born in Monroe, Michigan on December 9, 1951. She was one of four children born from the union of James E. Valerio and the late Margaret D. (Harmon) Valerio. Linda attended Jefferson Schools and graduated with the Class of 1970. On June 16, 1972 she was married by Father Carl Gentner to the love of her life Mark E. Manor at St. Mary's Catholic Church. For many years Linda was employed by Memorial Hospital and later after the merger was employed at Mercy Memorial Hospital. Her true passion, however, was that of a homemaker. She was a loving and supportive wife and mother to her two daughters. A devout catholic, Linda received her spiritual nourishment as a member of St. Mary's. In her free time, Linda loved to play cards and to go antiquing. She adored her grandsons and was proud of all of their accomplishments. The time that they spent together was always enjoyable. Camping was also a favorite pastime and the young family used a truck camper for many years before obtaining a trailer. Linda Sue Manor age 61 of Monroe passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Mercy Memorial Hospital. Her passing was preceded by her mother in March of 2004. To cherish her memory, Linda leaves a beloved husband of more than forty years: Mark of Monroe; two loving daughters: Jennifer and Julie Manor both of Newport; her father: James Valerio of LaSalle; one sister: Julie A. Barton and Fiance Ron Hills of LaSalle; two brothers: James M. (Anne) Valerio of LaSalle, Anthony I. (Janice) Valerio of Monroe; two wonderful grandchildren: Jacob Manor and Clarence Emmerson III both of Newport; two nieces: Brook Ann and Ashley James; and four nephews: Alex Valerio, Nathan Barton Jr., Justin Barton, and Justin Woodward. Friends may gather from 2:00-8:00pm, Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe (734) 384-5185 where a Rosary will be recited at 6:00pm.
