Daniel Paul Malotky was born in Rugby, North Dakota on April 16, 1957. He was the son of the late Reverend Raymond Malotky and Arlene (Heidemann) Malotky. Dan attended Monroe High School and Monroe County Community College. He earned his Master's degree in Accounting from the University of Toledo in 2009. Dan was married to Sharon Harris on October 7, 2001 at the Trinity Lutheran Church Chapel. Since 1996, Daniel had been employed in the finance department for the City of Monroe. He had a passion for numbers and being an accountant allowed him to serve his Trinity Lutheran Church congregation as a past member of Church Council, Church Finance, and Treasurer. Dan enjoyed being on the Board of Elders and ushering. He was a member of City of Monroe Employees Association 1 (COMEA). An avid sports fan, Dan loved watching and attending all sporting events. He enjoyed walking and reading biographies, success stories, inspirational books, religious materials, and the Bible. He loved his family and grandchildren. Daniel, age 55 of Temperance passed from this world into his heavenly home on Monday, February 18, 2013. His loving family was at his side, and he had been under the care of Hospice of Northwest Ohio. His father Raymond passed away in 2008. To cherish his memory he leaves a beloved wife: Sharon of Temperance; his mother: Arlene of Winterhaven, Florida; two sons: Andre (Tammy) Marshall of Monroe and Reid McElligott of Temperance; three grandchildren: Adrian, Hannah, and Avery; four siblings: Mike (Lori) Malotky, Sara (Brett) Ortolano both of Monroe, Paul (Sharon) Malotky of Leslie, and Steve Malotky of Aurora, Colorado; and two nephews: Andrew and Joshua Malotky. A Funeral Service celebrating his Home-going will take place at 11:00am on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 323 Scott Street. Rev. Jeffrey Heimsoth and the Rev. Karl Fuhlbrigge will co-officiate. A memorial luncheon will immediately follow for all those who are in attendance. Merkle Funeral Service, 9156 Summit Street (734) 848-5185 has been entrusted with his arrangements. Cremation has taken place through Roselawn Memorial Park and final inurnment will take place at the Chapel of Prayer Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, Trinity Lutheran Church, or Cedar Creek Church Outreach Ministries.
