Obituary of Harriet Agler

Please share a memory of Harriet to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Harriet Nadine Agler was born on December 20, 1918 in Albany, New York. She was the daughter of the late Amanda Grueschow. Harriet married the love of her life Donald Goodwin Agler on April 3, 1953 and from this union came the birth of five children. Harriet was a proud homemaker raising all of her own children along with her sister's four children. Later on, she had the joy of grandchildren and devoted as much time as she could to them. Harriet was well-known for her laid back personality, her independent nature, and her uncanny ability of doing everything on her own. Harriet was a gentle soul and never spoke badly about anyone. Harriet enjoyed doing arts and crafts with her family, but her favorite hobby was cross-stitching. She always kept very busy, but when it was time to relax, Harriet enjoyed watching Judge Judy or a good NASCAR race. Harriet Nadine Agler age 94 of Monroe passed away on January 7, 2013 at Mercy Memorial Hospital. In addition to her mother her passing was preceded by her husband; one son: Wallace Agler; one daughter: Sheri Stockard; one granddaughter; and one great-granddaughter. To cherish her memory she leaves three children: Joann (Charles) Checker, Donna (Paul) Wing, Cathy Terry; one daughter-in-law: Virginia Agler; and one son-in-law: William Stockard; sixteen grandchildren: and several great grandchildren. The family would like to express their appreciation to the 3rd Floor South Nursing Staff at Mercy Memorial Hospital for all the love and care they provided for Harriet. Friends may gather from 5:00pm until 8:00pm, Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185.
