Obituary of Leo Feaganes

Please share a memory of Leo to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Leo Feaganes was born in Newark, New Jersey on October 6, 1946. He was the son of the late James and Elizabeth (Hospodar) Feaganes. Leo grew up in Carleton, and honorably served in the United States Air Force for four years after graduating from Catholic Central in 1964. Following his military service, he moved back to Carleton, where he resided for the remainder of his life. Leo worked as a press operator at S.S. Industries until his medical retirement. Family was most important to Leo; he looked forward every family party just to spend quality time with them. As a longtime member of the S.E. Cushman Rider's Club, Leo enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his buddies. He appreciated the outdoors when bow hunting, and had a passion to tinker around in the garage fixing antique cars, lawn mowers and toys; restoring them as new. Leo was known for buying and selling on Ebay and liked to communicate with friends on the World Wide Web. He enjoyed old John Wayne movies, Bonanza, History Channel and other old TV shows. He especially liked Jeopardy because he could answer the questions before the contestants. Leo Feaganes age 66 of Monroe passed away at 8:55pm, surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at IHM Health Care Center in Monroe. He had been ill for some time. The family is grateful for the care and compassion he received not only from IHM, but also from the VA Hospital and Mercy Memorial Hospice. In addition to his parents, his passing was preceded by his sister Elizabeth Feaganes. To cherish his memory he leaves three children: Clifford (Joanne) Feaganes of Daytona Beach, Florida, Jody Feaganes of Newport and Eileen Feaganes of New Mexico; two sisters: Roseann (Terry) Bellner of Monroe and Loretta Foster Geal of Willow Springs Missouri; four brothers: James (Rocky) Feaganes of Milan, Carl (Sandy) Feaganes of Carleton, Christopher (Lori) of Traverse City and Tim (Cheryl) of Monroe; and two grandchildren: River and Nation Feaganes. Friends may gather 2:00-7:00pm, Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of His Life will follow at 7:00pm.
