Obituary of Beth Squier

Beth Elaine Wright was born in Romulus, Michigan on September 1, 1957. She was the daughter of the late Clinton C. Wright and the late Faith A. (Alfman) Wright. She married the love of her life Robert Squier on August 13, 1977, and from their union came the birth of two children. Beth returned to school and earned her diploma from Jefferson High School in 1986. Along the way she also became self-employed as a manicurist. Beth enjoyed her work and as her clients aged she became a caretaker of sorts taking her trade to them and visiting their homes from 1984 until several years ago. She worked as a cook at Nortel Lanes for several years. Beth loved her grandchildren, sharing long walks with them, reading, playing games, cooking dinner, and making cookies. She also loved the outdoors, sitting on her front porch, tending to her rose garden Beth was hard headed, but she had a heart of gold. Even though she tried to play it tough her family and close friends knew her gentle soul. Beth Squier age 55 of Newport passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor. In addition to her parents her passing was preceded by her husband: Robert on November 18, 1996; a brother Norman Wright; and a niece: Bobbie Ruth Everson. To cherish her memory she leaves two children: Treasure (Robert) Phillippi and Donald Squier both of Newport; two brothers: Clinton Wright Jr. of Michigan and Thomas Wright of California; two sisters: Merry (Ron) Garrett and Donna (Jerry) Barber both of Newport; Bev "Peaches" (Lawrence) Everson of Newport whom she thought of as a sister; two granddaughters: Alyssa Phillippi and Arianna Squier; four step grandchildren: Chad and Brandon Phillippi, Austin Graves, and Kaci Phillippi and her fiancé Ian Saum; and two great grandchildren: Braedyn Phillippi and Allison Phillippi. Cremation has taken place. Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 5:00pm, Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of Her Life will follow at 5:00pm. Private inurnment will take place at Michigan Memorial Park in Huron Township at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Treasure Phillippi to assist with funeral expenses.
