Obituary of Marjorie Brown

Please share a memory of Marjorie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Marjorie Ann Brown was born in Tazewell, Tennesee on August 1, 1944. She was the daughter of the late Herbert Kermit Sharpe and the late Ada (Keck) Drouillard. Marjorie attended Jefferson High School until eleventh grade and then graduated with the Monroe High School Class of 1963. For many years, Marjorie worked as a Corrections Officer and Dispatcher at the Monroe County Sheriff's Department taking a medical retirement several years ago. She married the love of her life, Gerald Brown, in June of 1998 in Lincolnton, North Carolina. Marjorie loved spending time with her family and friends. They considered her to be their personal navigator and calendar. She had a great sense of humor and her lightheartedness could brighten the darkest of days. Marjorie enjoyed traveling and an Alaskan Cruise had been one of her favorite jaunts. Marjorie was an excellent cook, but disappointingly she didn't care to do it although she did like baking. Marjorie loved the outdoors; she enjoyed tending to her flower garden, and appreciated wildlife and animals. She was especially fond of her Yorkie, Charlie. Marjorie was a shopaholic. She had enjoyed the convenience of QVC for many years but most recently had enjoyed the thriftiness of yard and garage saleing. She also enjoyed going to the casino, but only when she could walk out successfully. Marjorie Ann Brown, age 68 of Monroe, passed away peacefully at 9:50pm on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at the University of Michigan Medical Center. Her passing was preceded by her parents. To cherish her memory she leaves a beloved husband: Gerald Brown of Monroe; one daughter: Danielle McBain of Carleton; two step sons: Edward Brown of Ypsilanti and Jerry (Karen) Brown of Victoria, Australia; two step daughters: Dawn (Frank) Dudek of Carleton and Marce (Bryan) McHone of Monroe; three brothers: Jack Sharpe, Kermit Sharpe, and Donald Sharpe; one grandson: Anthony McBain; fifteen step-grandchildren; and four step-great grandchildren. Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 8:00pm on Friday, December 28, 2012 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of Her Life will take place at 11:00am on Saturday, December 29, 2012 also at Merkle's with Reverend Jeffrey Heimsoth pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating.
