Obituary of Connie Marie Thomas

Connie Marie Thomas was born in Monroe, Michigan on May 25, 1957. She was the only daughter born of Joseph Oley and the late Yvonne (Myers) Oley. Connie lived in Monroe most of her life but moved to San Jose, California in 2013 to be close to her son: Jared. 
Family and friends were Connie’s passion and delight.  She had a huge heart and was always there for others.  Connie was a trusted friend and confidant to anyone who needed it.  Her signature gift of joy was shown through her constant smiling, laughter, and entertaining sense of humor, will never be forgotten. She has always been a social butterfly and made some strong relationships over the years. 
Connie Marie Thomas, age 60, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 11, 2017.  She was a beloved grandmother, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend. She is preceded in death by her mother, Yvonne Oley.  
To cherish Connie’s memory, she leaves her father: Joseph Oley of Monroe; her sons: Aaron Thomas of Monroe, Chad Thomas of Walbridge, Ohio, and Jared (Chelsey) Thomas of San Jose, California; two brothers: Robert Oley and Anthony Oley; seven grandchildren: Caleb, Owen, Carys, Abigail, Jayden, Cejay and Caylin Thomas; and her nieces and nephew: Robert, Karissa, Christina, Michela, and Stephanie Oley.
Friends may gather on Sunday, August 20, 2017 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm and on Monday, August 21, 2017 from 2:00pm until 8:00 at Merkle Funeral Service; 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. She will Lie-In-State from 10:00am until a celebration of her life at 11:00am on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at North Monroe Street Church of God with Pastor Rick Massingill officiating. Procession will follow to Woodland Cemetery in Monroe for burial.
