Obituary of Timothy Cochran

Please share a memory of Timothy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Timothy John Cochran was born in Monroe on July 22, 1950. He was the son of James Cochran and the late Patricia (Baehr) Cochran. Tim was a 1968 graduate of Monroe High School. He served his country honorably during the Vietnam Conflict as a member of the United States Army. For more than thirty-seven years, Timothy was employed by Chrysler Corporation, and a member of UAW Local 372. He worked at the Trenton Engine Plant as a Jobsetter retiring in 2006. Timothy married the former Vicky Lambert and then on May 23, 1987 married Sharon Hill in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. Tim had a great smile and earned the nickname, "Smiley" from those who knew him best. He was a wonderful man, the sweetest guy, and he enjoyed making others laugh. Tim enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid Tiger fan. He loved his grandchildren, and spoiling them was his game; the sharing of pork rinds, beef jerky, and potato chips was quite common. Timothy was a member of First Wesleyan Church where he served as a children's bus driver and sang in the choir, and was a lifetime member of the Lewiston VFW. Timothy John Cochran age 62 of Monroe went to his heavenly home on Wednesday morning, August 22, 2012. His passing was preceded by his mother. To cherish his memory he leaves a beloved wife: Sharon of Monroe; one son: Chad (Rebecca) Cochran; three step-children: Corey (Rachel) Mayo, Lance Mayo, and Aubrey Mayo all of Monroe; his father and stepmother: James and Ruth Cochran of Monroe; two sisters: Sue (Dale) Bagby of Lake and Jennifer Cochran of Monroe; two brothers: Jim (Chris) Cochran of Cleveland and David (Paula) Cochran of Grand Rapids; nine grandchildren: Caeley, Rylie, Alyssa, and Corey II "C.J." Mayo, Vega Cochran, Kya Adams, Kaleb Mayo, Jade and Jenna Gibson; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may gather from 1:00-8:00pm, Friday, August 24, 2012 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe (734) 384-5185. The Monroe VFW Post 1138 will provide military honors at 6:00pm.
