Gabriel Michael Dotson is safely in the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ. He was stillborn August 13, 2012 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Ann Arbor. He was baptized by Fr. Charles Kibirige and greeted at Heaven's Gate by his four great-grandfathers: Cecil Dotson, Charles Gibbons, Harry Reaume, and Ralph Smock, and great-grandmother Marilyn Dotson. Though his time here was short, Gabriel was greatly loved. Gabriel was the son of Christopher and Kelly (Smock) Dotson. He was the first grandson of maternal grandparents: Bonnie and Dennis Smock of Monroe and paternal grandparents: Michelle Dotson of South Rockwood and Robert (Joann) Dotson of Carleton. He was the great-grandson of June Gibbons of Monroe, Katherine Dotson of South Rockwood, Marie Reaume of South Rockwood, and Phyllis Smock of Monroe. Gabriel also leaves behind three uncles: Barry Dotson of Glendale, Arizona, Matthew Dotson of South Rockwood, and Joshua (Andrea) Smock of Monroe. A private graveside service was held Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at St. Joseph Cemetery, 909 North Monroe Street. Father John Britto Chinnappa MSFS, Associate Pastor of St. Mary's Parish in Rockwood officiated. Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185 was entrusted with his arrangements.
