Russell L. Campbell was born in Monroe, Michigan on October 4, 1949. He was the son of the late Richard James Campbell, Sr. and the late Grace Iva (Day) Campbell. He was employed with the DT & I Railroad for more than ten years.
Russell had a great sense of humor and he loved to make others smile. He liked talking on his CB radio and playing cards. Whenever he had a chance Russell loved to deer hunt, especially "up north". He enjoyed socializing at the Newport VFW. Russell was a great father and an awesome grandfather. He was close to his siblings and loved all of his family dearly.
Russell L. Campbell, Sr., age 62, of Monroe passed away at 7:10am on Monday, July 30, 2012 at his home. In addition to his parents, his passing was preceded by two brothers: Robert and Mark, as well as two infant brothers: Brian and Keith and a granddaughter: Adrianna Jackson.
To cherish his memory he leaves behind four daughters: Tina (Jeff) Buckner, Ruthann (Henry) Blair, Raven McPeek, and Angel McPeek; a son: Russell (Heather) Campbell; three brothers: Richard (Alice) Campbell, Jr., Ronnie Campbell, Roland (Mary) Campbell; two sisters: Ruthann Watson and Roberta (Joe) Stein; fifteen grandchildren: Steven, Dustin, Russell III, Dakota, Austin, James, Devin, Tiffany, Ryan, Austin, Katelyn, Roman, Jason, Ethan, and Kara, with one more on the way; and seven great-grandchildren: Skylar, Alivia, Aleksia, Summer, Isabelle, Caden, and LeeAnn
Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 8:00pm, Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of His Life will begin at 7:30 pm. Cremation will follow through Southern Michigan Service in Livonia, Michigan.
