Glen Alvin Young February 6, 1925 - January 25, 2011 Glen A. Young was born in Ann Arbor on February 6, 1925. He was one of two boys born from the union of the late Herman Young and the late Lena (Green) Young. Glen was a graduate of Flat Rock High School, and later attended vocational school. He married his true love the former Marian Hollingsworth on November 15, 1958 in Ypsilanti. From this union came the birth of two children: Charles and Sherry. Glen worked as a journeyman die maker for more than forty years. He was employed by Monroe Tool Manufacturing and Detroit Engineering and Machine. After the closing of his plant, Glen obtained his builders license. In the 1950's he built his Frenchtown home, and later built another home to sell. Restoring old cars was Glen's passion, and he was a member of the Ford V-8 Club for over thirty years. Glen was a hard worker, and a man who was very intelligent on a host of different subjects. He was a loving husband and father, and he was adored by his grandchildren. Glen always said that he was blessed with the most loving and caring family a man could have. For the past five years until her passing on November 4, 2010, Glen was Marian's caretaker ignoring his own health. Glen age 85 of Monroe passed away peacefully at 5:35pm, Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Magnum Healthcare and Rehab. His loving family was at his side. In addition to his parents and his wife his passing was preceded by a brother: Roger Young. He leaves to cherish his memory a son: Charles (Jacquelyn) Young of LaSalle; a daughter: Sherry (Robert) Cebina of Monroe; six grandchildren: Mariann (Christopher) Reaume, Julie Ann Cebina, Shari Lee (Greg) Lambert, Robert (Holly) Cebina, Traci Ann (Scott) Micheau, and Ann Marie Cebina; fifteen great grandchildren; sister-in-law: Wanda Young of New Boston; and two nieces.
