Ronald E. Haynes, age 76, went to be with the lord on June 11th, 2008 at 12:35 a.m. He had been in declining health for many years and seriously ill since February of 2007. His loving family, his caretakers, were at his side. Ronald was born October 3, 1931 in Monroe, Michigan to the union of the late John (Crit) Haynes and Lavada Fincher. He attended Monroe Public Schools. He married Dolores Kush on October 20, 1951 also in Monroe, Michigan. . He served four years admirably as a member of the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He obtained the rank of Sergeant. Ronald worked for thirty years for the Ford Motor Company at their Monroe Plant. He retired as a heavy equipment operator on November 1, 1980. Ronald was a member of the Local 723 U.A.W. He had also been the lead singer of the band Ron Haynes and The Good Times. He was an avid golfer, and enjoyed the time he spent on the course with his children and grandchildren. In addition to his wife of fifty-six years: Dolores, Ron is survived by two loving sons: David (Sharon) Haynes and Thomas (Sheila) Haynes both of Monroe; two brothers: Norman and (Betty) Haynes of Brooklyn, Michigan and Jerry (Jean) Haynes of Knoxville, Tennessee; a sister: Audrey (Harold) Dye of Knoxville, Tennessee; seven adoring grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. Ronald was preceded in death by his brother: Bobby (Frank) Haynes and his parents. Friends may gather from 3-8 p.m.; Thursday, June 12th, 2008 and from 12-8 p.m.; Friday, June 13th, 2008 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street, Frenchtown Township, (734) 384-5185. Rev. Rick Massingill pastor of North Monroe Street Church of God will lead a praise service at 7:00 p.m., Friday. He will lie in state from 9:00 a.m. until The Mass of the Resurrection at 10:00 a.m., Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 937 East Third Street, Monroe. Father William Fisher pastor of the church will officiate. Procession and Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Graveside services will be under the auspices of Father William Fisher. For those desiring the family has suggested memorial donations be made to St. Josephis Church Food Closet or Mercy Memorial Hospice.
