Obituary of Michael Parks

Mike Eugene Parks, 54, of Monroe, Michigan went to be with the Lord after a work related accident in Detroit, Michigan. Mike was a veteran electrician who took much pride in his work. He was currently working through Local #17 International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Mike's true pride and joy was his four daughters, Angela Michelle, Christa Lynn, Alicia Renee, Brittney Sue, all of Monroe. Mike loved taking his girls fishing and spending time with them at the lake. He enjoyed hunting and he never missed a day at the gym. He was also an avid softball player for many years. Mike was born January 10, 1956 in Monroe, to Robert E. and Gloria (Ward) Parks. Sadly they preceded in him in death. Surviving him in addition to his daughters are three sisters: Thelma S. (Jim) Kehres, Sheila A. Parks, Tammy L. Beason all of Monroe; two brothers: James G. Stines and Charles A. (Rhonda) Parks both of Monoe, Also mourning his passing is his girlfriend, Tina Kennedy. Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 8:00pm, Friday, August 27, 2010 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. He will lie in state at Stewart Road Christian Ministries 1199 Stewart Road (734) 241-1000 on Saturday, August 28, 2010 from 10:00am until a Celebration of His Life at 11:00am. Dr. Sean O'Neal pastor of the church will officiate. Procession will follow to Woodland Cemetery for Burial.
