Richard Henry Bomyea was born in Carleton, Michigan on February 9, 1941. He was the son of the late Clarence A. Bomyea and the late Annabelle (Beach) Bomyea. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force. For twenty-seven years he was married to Sally. Richard was a loving father and good friend and he loved to spend as much time as possible with his loved ones. He had been employed in Monroe paper mills for many years, and later drove truck for ten years for Wolverine Aluminum Trucking of Lincoln Park. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. Richard Henry Bomyea age 70 of Reed City formerly of Monroe passed away at 1:40pm, Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Spectrum Health Continuum Care in Grand Rapids. In addition to his father: Clarence A. Bomyea Sr. and his mother: Annabelle Revard his passing was preceded by two infant daughters: Beth Ann and Anna Marie; and two nephews: Wilfred Small and Terry Dow. To cherish his memory he leaves three daughters: Robin (Luke) Butler of Monroe, Christina Gibson of Newport, and Alice (Kevin) Richardson of Monroe; one stepson: David Lee Trouten of Monroe; three sisters: Betty Dow of Taylor, BeverlySmall of Monroe, and Nancy (Karl) Kuriwchak of Sebring, Florida; one brother: Clarence (Martha) Bomyea of Taylor; eleven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren; and his longtime companion and friend Sally A. Bomyea.. Friends may gather from 12:00pm until 8:00pm, Sunday, February 12, 2012 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of His Life will take place at 11:00am, Monday, February 13, 2012 also at Merkle's with Rev. Hunter Raburn Associate Pastor of Stewart Road Christian Ministries officiating. Procession will follow to Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle for burial where graveside services will be under the auspices of American Legion Post 514 of Ida. In lieu of flowers memorial donations are suggested to the family.
