Obituary of Gary Simmons

Gary Jonathon Simmons came into this world at 8:19pm on Wednesday April 27, 2016 at ProMedica Toledo Hospital. This beautiful baby boy, a gift from Heaven, was born from Gary Simmons Jr. and Marissa Ness. Although his earthly life was a short fifteen days, the joy Gary brought and the lives he touched were immense; he will forever be cherished and remembered as a" little warrior." Gary passed from this life into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at the University of Michigan Motts Children's Hospital surrounded by his loving family. In addition to his great-grandfather Pete Post, his passing was preceded by his great-great grandfather: John Banks; and his great grandmother: Pauline Ness. To cherish his memory, he leaves his parents: Gary Simmons Jr. and Marissa Ness; his grandparents: Gary J. Simmons Sr. of Monroe, Tracy Brent of Monroe, Paul (Marilyn) Ness of Ida; and his great- grandparents: Gary (Janet) Simmons of Monroe, John Ness of Monroe, Ethel Cooley of Ida and Sue Post of West Branch. Friends may gather from 4:00pm until 8:00pm on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734)384-5185. A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00am on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 also at Merkle's with Pastor Rick Massingill of North Monroe Street Church of God; Mountain Assembly officiating. Procession to Woodland Cemetery will follow for burial. Memorial Donations are suggested to the Neuroblastoma Children's Cancer Society.
