James Arthur Russeau was born on August 1, 1945 in Monroe, Michigan. He was one of eight children born from the union of the late Virgil and Marguerite (Goslin) Russeau. He attended Monroe High School with the class of 1963 and continued to further his education at Monroe County Community College. James supported his family as an auto body repairman, working for himself. He had a strong passion for working on cars and bikes, where his talent often shined bright. James enjoyed spending his days out fishing and riding his motorcycle. He had a love for good old fashioned country cooking and other various types of dishes. He loved the Lord most of all, he attended several local churches where he received his spiritual nourishment and many prayer meetings with his sister Nancy and many church friends. James was a very joyful man, with a great sense of humor that those around him got to enjoy. He spent his free time reading the bible and especially enjoyed listening to gospel music. James Arthur Russeau, age 70 of Monroe, passed away at 9:32pm on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at ProMedica Toledo Hospital. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by three brothers: Roger V. Russeau, John "Jack" Russeau, and Ronald C. Russeau. To cherish his memory, James leaves two children: Jamie Sue (John) Broadley of Redford and Kurt Russeau of Ypsilanti; brother: Robert "Bullet" Russeau; three sisters: Beatrice A. Pipis of Monroe, Nancy L. (Gordon) Deaton of Monroe, and Doris M. Dines of Toledo; and step granddaughter: Lacey and many nieces and nephews. James will lie in state from 10:00am until 11:00am on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at North Monroe Street Church of God; Mountain Assembly, 2393 North Monroe St, Monroe, MI 48162. A memorial service will follow at 11:00am with Pastor Rick Massingill officiating. He will be laid to rest at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Monroe, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family for funeral arrangements.
