Helmut Jacob Jagutis, age 70, of Monroe passed away on Monday, March 28, 2016 after a hard fought battle with cancer.
Helmut was born on December 28, 1945 in Karnin, Germany and came to Monroe, Michigan with his family when he was ten years old. He grew up in Monroe; graduated from Western Michigan University with and obtained his Master's degree is Secondary Education Administration from Michigan State University. He retired in 2002 after a long career as an educator and administrator for Holt Public Schools. He was an avid golfer and card player and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his two daughters: Meredith Jagutis and Michelle (Dave) Eldridge; two grandsons: Alex and Ryan; three siblings: Roland Jagutis, Alvin (Scott) Jagutis, and Erika (David) Brinkel, and many beloved nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents: Bertha and Jakobs Jagutis.
