Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
James Louis Jacob was born in Toledo, Ohio on May 18, 1934. He was the son of the late Emery Jacob and the late Ethel (Bozo) Jacob. James attended St. Stephen Elementary School, Macomb High School, and the University of Toledo. While at Macomb, James was the head of Student Council and the school newspaper. He had also been elected Mayor for the Day for the City of Toledo. James married his true love, Margeret Tambur, and together they would share in the birth of two sons: James and Jeffrey. For many years, James worked as a self-employed insurance investigator. He retired in 2009. James was a lifelong member of St. Stephen Church and a social member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4906. He had been inducted into the Birmingham Hall of Fame and was an active member. He was also a longtime member of Chippewa Golf Club. Jim enjoyed traveling, fishing, and golf. As an avid golfer he had recorded five holes-in-one. For many years he organized golf trips once or twice a year traveling to Myrtle Beach and Jekyll Island. But more than anything, James loved to talk. He would share conversation with anyone willing to listen, and his wife, Marge would often joke, "He could talk to a stick"! James, age 81 of Toledo passed away on December 30, 2015 at Genesis Healthcare of Perrysburg. In addition to his parents his passing was preceded by his beloved wife: Marge. To cherish his memory he leaves two sons: Jim (Mona) Jacob and Jeff (Melinda) Jacob; five grandchildren: Jim, Joel, Jason, Mariesa, and Macy; Judy (Jerry) and Maryanne (Rick); and many nieces and nephews.
