Patricia Ann Wener was born in Monroe, Michigan on March 17, 1936. She was one of four children born from the union of the late Sam Wener and the late Edith (Gerdes) Wener. Patricia grew up on a farm on Stewart Road where she began her education in the one room schoolhouse on Stewart Road, later graduating from Monroe high school with the Class of 1953. Patricia married the love of her life Donald McManaway on October 26, 1957 at the Congregational Church in Maybee. Patricia was blessed to stay at home to raise their two daughters and for more than forty-five years the couple made their home together in Monroe. She enjoyed caring for her family and cherished each and every moment she spent with them; especially at the Michigan Greatlakes beaches. Patricia received her spiritual nourishment and sang in the choir at St. Paul's United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Toledo Seaway Chapter of the Sweet Adelines and regularly volunteered as a troop leader for Campfire Girls and often volunteered at Thrift Shop Association of Monroe. As an avid gardener, Patricia also took part in Monroe's Garden Club. She was quite the seamstress and enjoyed sewing for costumes and for friends and family. Patricia Ann McManaway, age 79, of Monroe, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at home surrounded by her loving family. In addition to her parents, her passing was preceded by her beloved husband: Donald McManaway of Monroe; her son-in-law: Dr. James Reagan; and her sister: Janet Mitchell.
