Aloysius Jacob Socha was born in Poland on April 12, 1925. He was one of three sons born from the union of his late mother and father. After attending a Catholic school in Hamtramck, Aloysius was drafted into the United States military where he proudly served the United States Army, Navy, and Air Force for a total of fourteen years. Aloysius married the love of his life, Barbara Reynolds and were later blessed with the birth of their beautiful daughter. He supported his family employed at FTD as a truck driver for many years and retired as a bus driver. Always willing to open his home to those in needs, Aloysius was a generous man and will always be remembered as such. Aloysius Jacob Socha, age 90, of Hamtramck, passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at John D. Dingell VA Medical Center. In addition to his parents, his passing was preceded by his wife, Barbara, and two brothers: Joe and Richard Socha. To cherish his memory, he leaves his daughter; Judith (Bruce) Murr, of Jacksonville, Florida; one grandson, Bruce Murr Jr.; and two great-grandchildren. Burial at Greatlakes National Cemetery will take place at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185.
