Orlie David Jacob was born in Toledo on March 17, 1942. He was born from the union of the late Raymond Rudolph Jacob and Mary Jane (Smith) Jacob Mockbee. Orlie attended Clay High School he enlisted in the United States Marines Corps serving his country honorably during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Orlie was a hardworking man and led his four children by example. For thirty years he was employed as a Journeyman Hammerman at the Dana Corporation retiring in 1989. Retirement was short lived as he returned to employment as a Test Track Technician with Ford Motor Company in Dearborn for an additional fourteen years. Orlie also took time to serve his community as a volunteer firefighter for LaSalle Township Fire Department. He seemed to make friends wherever he went. This was due in part his great sense of humor which made him the life of the party and his laid back personality making him a joy to be around. Orlie enjoyed staying active. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed bowling, softball, and golf. He also loved to play cards, especially Texas Hold-em and Yahtzee. He was also very proud of his grandchildren. Orlie, age 73 of Monroe, passed away at home on Tuesday, October 20, 2015. He was surrounded by his loving family. His passing was preceded by his parents. To cherish his memory, Orlie will be lovingly remembered by Carla Jean Jacob; two daughters: Dana L. Jacob of Laingsburg, Michigan and Karan M. (Dennis) Roudebush of Toledo; two sons: Mark R.
