Obituary of William Rahe

Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
William David Rahe (Mongo) age 41, was born in Toledo, Ohio on June 6, 1974. He was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in Waterville where he was confirmed in 1988. Bill graduated from St. John's Jesuit High School in Toledo (class of 92) and attended Bowling Green State University. Bill had a lifelong love of music beginning when he played the drums in the St. John's marching band. He taught himself to play guitar and played in a rock band with his friends for several years. He worked as a machinist for Precision Steel of Toledo. Bill always enjoyed spending time with his band buddies, many friends and family, but his greatest joy was entertaining them with his witty sense of humor and joyful personality. He was a caring and easy going man, loved by all he met and was truly a gentle giant. Bill is survived by his fiancée, Ofelia Vega, of Toledo, Ohio; his mother and father, Rev. Linda and Mr. Dennis Rahe of Holland, Ohio; his sister Sharilyn (Ray) Santoro of Holland, Ohio; and 4 nieces and 4 nephews. He also enjoyed being part of Ofelia's family of 3 sons; Juan C. Ramos, Martin Delgado, Jr. (Michelle), Antonio Delgado Sr. (Bridget) and 4 grandchildren; loving them as his own. Bill was recently preceded in death by his brother, Dennis Paul Rahe formerly of Pemberville, Ohio and his grandmother, Virginia Rahe formerly of Gibsonburg Ohio. It was in shortly after 4 pm on September 29, 2015 at Toledo Hospice of Northwest Ohio that Bill surrounded by his family peacefully lost his short battle with cancer and entered life triumphant. May God grant all who mourn Bill's passing His certain hope and comfort through the knowledge of the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 8:00pm on Sunday October 4th, 2015 at Merkle Funeral Service, 9156 Summit Street, Erie (734)848-5185.
