Cynthia "Rose" Green was born in Aneon Town, Clarendon, Jamaica, on May 17, 1928. She was one of four children born from the union of the late Henry John Green and the late Keren (Williams) Green. After graduation, Rose attended Kingston College where she met and married the love of her life Altimont Augustus Plummer, on June 18, 1950 in Kingston, Jamaica. The couple would make their home in Jamaica, England, and Quebec before moving to the United States in 1972. For more than twenty years, Rose worked outside the home as a Janitor for the North Star Steel Company retiring in 1992. Rose was the matriarch of her family by loving, supporting, and caring for three generations of children. Her greatest joy was spending time with her loved ones and she took great pleasure in making her famous Jamaican cuisines, Rice, Peas and Curry Goat and Pepper Pot Soup for all to enjoy. As a talented seamstress, Rose could sew and create just about anything. She enjoyed tending to her vegetable and flower gardens and listening to classical and reggae music with her feline and canine companions, "Baby, "Rosie," and "Avatar." Cynthia "Rose" Plummer, age 87, of Monroe passed away at home on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. In addition to her parents, her passing was preceded by her husband of thirty eight years: Altimont; and three siblings: Linette Legault, Cecil Green, and Alexander Green. To cherish her memory, Cynthia leaves two daughters: Emma Plummer and Ann Marie Plummer, both of Monroe; five grandchildren: Linette Plummer, David (Marlana Hall) Plummer, Altimont (Destiny) Plummer, Keren Plummer and Warren Plummer Sr.; twelve great grandchildren: Izayah, Makayla, David Jr., Aniyah, Adellae, Cynthia, Emma, Milton, Patricia, Jaziray, Warren Jr, and Alimont III; two great-great grandchildren: Ny'eema and Ny'Anna; four special nieces and nephews: Mark Legault, Janet Mathenge, Wayne Green, and Winston Green; and many other beloved family members and friends.
